A few months after the rumors about the plagiarism issue that came Ost drama series entitled HIGH DREAM Someday, fans argued about whether or not the song has a similarity with the song by Kim Shin Il.
According to the Seoul Central Court, Shin Il Kim claimed that Michael was doing a plagiarism of his work To My Man's second album ASH. Because JY Park is a songwriter and the lyrics of the song Someday, he sued for 110 million won, or $ 103,000 in compensation.
"The melody and chorus of similar Someday To My Man, written in 2003. Even harmony, rhythm, acoustic guitar, drums and bass, the instrument is quite similar. We are demanding compensation of 110 million won in compensation from the copyright infringement," claims manager of Kim Shin-Il.
Meanwhile, Tuesday, July 12, 2011, JY Park responded by stating it could not be categorized as a form of plagiarism because the track was used in a very popular song.
"Unfortunately we have to face the law. It can not be said to be a plagiarism because the chord used is the chord that is used in popular songs. If they sue, we will choose the legal team" said JY Park representatives.
